Hi Bookworms,
Today my late review for Netgalley advanced reader copy (ARC) of Gate to Kagoshima by Poppy Kuroki, which I supposed to read last year and I didn't find a time for.
What I can tell about this book?
Fast read, nicely written love story with time travelling and finding out about ones ancestors with last battle of samurai in background.
I read it in less than one day and enjoy it. Main character is called Isla, she's Scottish with Japanese ancestry (through her maternal grandfather), who is studying in Tokio University and during her time in Japan trying to find out more about her grandpa's family.
I do like author's writing style, easy to follow.
This book is first in Ancestor memories series, I do hope to read next book in the near future.
As far as I'm aware book two: Passage to Tokio is planned to be published in January next year.
That's all for today :)
